How SkillrHub aligns resources to curriculum
SkillrHub uses curriculum codes as organising anchors, then checks whether the teaching explanation, practice and assessment actually address the knowledge or skill described by the curriculum statement.
1. Start from the curriculum code
For Australian Curriculum V9 resources, the curriculum code is treated as the primary reference. Titles may use teacher- and parent-friendly search language, but the underlying page identifies the curriculum code so users can verify the intended alignment.
2. Separate teaching language from curriculum wording
Curriculum statements are often broader than a worksheet title. SkillrHub may use phrases such as “place value”, “pictographs” or “informal units” to help users find a resource, while the page also explains the broader curriculum intent that the resource supports.
3. Map teaching, practice and assessment separately
A teaching slide deck can model a concept, practice can build fluency, and an independent test can check transfer. SkillrHub does not treat these as interchangeable. Where available, each is linked back to the same curriculum skill so users can move from explanation to independent evidence.
4. Treat state and international references cautiously
Australian Curriculum V9 is the canonical source for resources labelled with AC9 codes. NSW, Victorian and international references are planning aids unless the page explicitly states otherwise. A related outcome is not presented as identical merely because the topic appears similar.
5. Avoid invented precision
If SkillrHub has not verified a curriculum mapping, it should not publish a code simply to improve search visibility. Pages should prefer a narrower, supportable alignment over a broader claim that cannot be substantiated.
6. Update when the product changes
Resource coverage, lesson structure and curriculum references may evolve. SkillrHub’s public pages, catalogue data and supporting methodology should be updated together so search pages do not promise capabilities that the learning product no longer provides.

What users can verify
Users can inspect the visible curriculum code, the topic description, linked teaching resources, practice/test pathway and the public Year 1 catalogue. This makes the alignment claim auditable rather than relying on a generic “curriculum aligned” badge.
